THE GLOBAL AVENGERS

France

In France, where the show is broadcast under the title Chapeau Melon et Bottes de Cuir (Bowler Hat and Leather Boots) there were Avengers comic strips published in the Television Magazine, Tele Poche, of which the sole example I've managed to track down was four pages.  The strip consists of two, two-page sections from TV Comic featuring Emma Peel.  The strip excerpted below (and apologies for the poor quality of the copy) is a reprint of a strip which originally appeared in TV Comic #723, December 1965.   The date of the Tele Poche reprint is unknown.

If you have any information on the Tele Poche reprints of Chapeau Melon et Bottes de Cuir, for example if there were any reprints of the Tara King strips, please get in touch.  mither_me@hotmail.com

Chapeau Melon et Bottes de Cuir (Nouveau!!)In 1977, hot on the heels of the French/British/Canadian collaboration on The New Avengers, there was a New Avengers comic album published in France by Telejunior, and entitled Chapeau Melon et Bottes de Cuir Collection No. 1.   This contained six strips, five of which were definitely based on an episode from the TV series.  The stories were:
La Malédiction de Falkenstein... Unlike the other stories this was not based on any of the New Avengers episodes.
Le Repaire de L'Aigle (based on The New Avengers episode The Eagle's Nest)
Le Secret de Midas* (based on The New Avengers episode The Midas Touch)
La Mort Avait des Ailes (based on The New Avengers episode Cat Amongst The Pigeons)
Le Cybernaute* (based on The New Avengers episode Last of The Cybernauts...?)
La Mystère de la Planète "Y" (based on The New Avengers episode The Tale of the Big Y)

*The asterisked strips also appeared in the GB published New Avengers annual from 1978. This appears to be a unique situation in which foreign-sourced material was published in the UK.

Note that on the cover, Steed is rescuing Mrs. Peel (photo reference taken directly from the TV episode The Gravediggers) but she doesn't appear inside.

The artist on these strips was Pierre Le Goff.  The French Avengers fan club Friends of Steed published a guide to French(?) Avengers Comic strips in an issue of their Magazine Le Magazine.
